A bunch of nice people over on my facebook page convinced me that I needed to make a Jeep Wrangler (4-dr) next. It’ll probably be the most mainstream model I’ve ever made.

Next comes some illustrator work:
I do simplify somewhat – but these details are typically very small and always look great. Most printers cannot reproduce some of the small details I put into these models.
Then I build the first prototype. Usually I build it before coloring, but this model has a lot of straight edges and is not too curved, so it’s simpler and I can “build it in my head” as I go.
Cutting it out. You may notice I left out the tabs: With some prototypes I put them in manually as I go in order to have a little flexibility in location.
