CAT Dozer paper model in progress
October 21st, 2016I’m working on a simple one-page paper bulldozer. The goal is to make a simple handout – a one-page model that is not too complex.
Here’s the original to copy:
Fitting this onto one page means it’ll have to be small. First I make a rough mockup in my 3D program:
Then I unfold it and bring it into illustrator. Shortly after, I have a model I can hold in my hand:
But how will it look? I mock up the artwork in a basic line-only style:
It looks pretty good – each time I build a mockup, I make tweaks and changes to the file to make the model easier to build, or to adjust alignment.
The next step will be to really get into the artwork. Colors shading, etc.
